AP US History
Jefferson Adminstration map will be due
War of 1812 notesheet due (see the instructions on the assignment handout)
There will be an open note quiz on your War of 1812 notes–what you have to use is totally under your control. Plan accordingly.
For Thursday, Oct. 15
AP US History
We will finish the presentations in class on the Jefferson Administration’s Challenges
Bring Madison biographical material to class with you
You may want to get a start on the Jefferson Map assignment
War of 1812 assignment will be handed out in class
For Thursday October 8
AP US History
Complete your timeline additions. They will be collected for grading.
Read the jefferson bio sheet and note any comments you have .
Complete the assigned reading on the yellow handout. This is both the general reading and note-taking and the reading for your group project. Be sure to do the reading about Jefferson and Sally Hemmings.
For Wednesday, Oct. 7
Honor Government
Final essays are due from those who are presenting on either of the Friday presentation dates.
Those who have to do their presentations today may turn their final essays in on Friday, October 9.
Remember, it will be impossible to reschedule presentations so don’t be absent on your scheduled presentation day.
For Tuesday, Oct. 6
AP US History
Finish the John Adams Presidency Questions
Come prepared for the Chapter 4-5 exam. A study guide indicating what notes will be collected and what you will able to use on the exam was distributed in class on Friday.
We will quickly finish examining John Adams’ presidency and then you will take the exam.
For Friday October 2
AP US History
Read pp. 162-165 in text and answer the questions on the “John Adams’ Administration Questions” sheet as you read.
There will be an exam on CH 4-5 on Tuesday.
For Thursday October 1
Honors Government
Use your textbook as well as the two provided handout packets to complete the entire 3 page assignment (the one with the Venn Diagram on page #1). That assignment is worth over 50 points.
Remember, essays are due next Wednesday!!!!!
After Katie M. completes her current event–remember to do the required reaction paragraph at the end of this set of current events notes. You can respond to just one, to a theme that grew out of the current events, to several that seem to be linked. etc. At the end of your reaction paragraph, write down your choice for best catchy title. Have this done for Monday–you will be turning in the notes, reaction paragraph, and vote on Monday for a grade. If you missed any of the current events presentations, be sure to get photocopies of someone else’s notes to insert into yours.
For Monday, Sept. 28
AP US History
Group #5 will present on their Revolution Topics on Monday.
We will then quickly review information about the Constitutional Convention and take the open-note quiz.
Be sure you have read over and even highlighted important information on the two handouts related to the Constitutional Convention you received in class on Thursday.
For Wednesday, Sept. 23
Honors Government
Complete your assigned work on the two scenarios dealing with problems presented to the Articles of Confederation Congress.
Start doing research for your essay topic.
Six of you have current event presentations to prepare for.
Looking ahead, there will be a quiz on the Articles of Confederation on Friday.
