For Tuesday Dec. 1

Honors Govcernment

•  Complete 2 Ideology assignments:

On the blue sheet–write at the top what you think you are–Liberal, Moderately Liberal, Moderate, Moderately Conservative, Conservative before circling any of the descriptors

On white sheet–read the directions and follow them.

•  Nine of you have current events: Jordan H, Rachel H, Emily K, Angela L, Nick L, Caleb L, Katie M, Tyler M, Matt M

Since so many of you have these, I would recommend bringing a back-up article just in case someone else brings yours.

For Thursday, Oct. 23

Honors Government

Get started on the federalism notes.  The quiz next week is very difficult and you want to give yourself every opportunity to do well on it with great notes.

Continue working on the Constitution Study Guide.  The Constitution Exam will likely be in two weeks.  Remember, the study guide will be graded and not just a holistic grade for handing it in.

For Friday, Oct. 16

Honors Government

Newsweek assignment due–absence last Friday does not earn you extra time–you will have had Tuesday and Thursday of this week to stop in and pick up what you missed last Friday.  Pre-arranged absences last Friday did not earn you an extra week to turn your essay in–point deductions for being late started when the essay was not handed in on Friday and have continued each day this week. Newsweek assignment will be included in First Quarter grade.

Last 9 essay presentations will be given.  No opportunity will exist to do these at another time.

Group One and Group 2 should come prepared to share information on their assigned sections of the Independent Study Constitution Exam Study Guide.

***The quarter ends on Friday, October 16 and grades will be finalized by Monday–not on Monday.

For Wednesday, Oct. 7

Honor Government

Final essays are due from those who are presenting on either of the Friday presentation dates.

Those who have to do their presentations today may turn their final essays in on Friday, October 9.

Remember, it will be impossible to reschedule presentations so don’t be absent on your scheduled presentation day.

For Thursday October 1

Honors Government

Use your textbook as well as the two provided handout packets to complete the entire 3 page assignment (the one with the Venn Diagram on page #1).  That assignment is worth over 50 points.

Remember, essays are due next Wednesday!!!!!

After Katie M. completes her current event–remember to do the required reaction paragraph at the end of this set of current events notes.  You can respond to just one, to a theme that grew out of the current events, to several that seem to be linked. etc.  At the end of your reaction paragraph, write down your choice for best catchy title.  Have this done for Monday–you will be turning in the notes, reaction paragraph, and vote on Monday for a grade.  If you missed any of the current events presentations, be sure to get photocopies of someone else’s notes to insert into yours.
