October 30-31

Last class we worked on Washington’s First term. Assignment was to completed 2nd term assigned problem/solution and work on two questions on John Adams’ sheet.

October 30-31

In class we presented visual aids on the amendments and then took the Amendment 11-27 quiz. You will be handing in all of the amendment work on these amendments that has been accomplished outside or in class on Thursday so be sure you have it all, including the visual aids.

Assignment:

The “Guarantees” for Amendments 1-10.
Your U.S. Constitution Exam will be on Wednesday next week. The Independent Study packet will be collected for a grade.
Don’t forget to get to a local government meeting. You are running out of time to take advantage of that obligation–which is worth a test grade.

October 30-31

We took a test. Following the test, the expectations for the Chapter 8 notes were explained. An opportunity to ask questions will be coming soon so work on this. We then examined the 1824 election and started on John Quincy Adams’ failed presidency.

Assignments:

1. Examine the Election of 1828 chart and be prepared to discuss it
2. Read pp. 249-260 in text and start taking notes on Andrew Jackson’s presidency on the provided notesheet
3. strat on the Marshall Case assignment
*The timeline will be collected the first time I see you next week.

October 25

We took the Chapter 6 quiz in class. We reviewed a note handout on the First Congress. Students received two jigsawed assignments on Washington Admin.

Assignments:

Complete your highlighted section of Washington’s First Term handout
Complete your highlighted section of Washington’s Second Term Problems
Thesis Paper on “The Philadelphia Story” is due next class

October 23

We finished Chapter 6 in class.

Assignments:

Be prepared for Chapter 6 quiz (Those absent should come in to pick up what they missed)
Work on Thesis paper on “The Philadelphia Story”

October 24

We took Federalism Quiz in class.

Amendment Procedure Sheet–complete all
Political Cartoon Analysis

October 24-25

We finished presentations in class, went over Madison Bio sheet–for a grade, and did War of 1812.

Be sure Sectionalism Chart is finished (info in book and on handout–use both)
Complete Missouri Compromise sheet
Remember to do the paragraph on the Embargo Act political cartoon
