Be sure to read and jot some notes about the last few pages of the Chapter–p. 265 “Rise of the Whigs” to p. 270.

For Tuesday Nov. 3
AP US History
Be sure you have completed all of the reading in the text and in Portrait #17 on all of parts of your presentation topic. There will be time to work in class on your presentation. Make sure that work time is productive by coming fully prepared to discuss the issues and put the presentation together.
All of the presentations will be given on Thursday in class whether all of your group members are present or not so be sure everyone is informed.
For Thursday October 29
Honors Government
Political Cartoon Analysis due (postponed from Monday due to Quiz)
Amendment procedure and Amendment 11-27 packet due beginning of the period. Be sure to write down detailed information about those amendments. There will be an activity completed in class and all you will have to use on the activity is those notes you took.
****U.S. Constitution Exam will be November 10th. Independent Study Prep packet will be collected for a grade on the day of the exam.
For Friday October 30
AP US History
Have read Portrait #14 “The Great Chief Justice” and answered Q. 2 and 3 p. 198.
Have completed Marshall Court Case analysis chart
Have read pp. 249-252 at the beginning of Chapter 9 and taken notes on them
Also have pre-read information for your assigned topic in the Jackson Presidency.
For Wednesday, Nov. 28
AP US History
You will finish your exam in class.
CH 6-7 Timeline is due
Chapter 8 Notesheet is due
Have read Portrait 19 (in Portraits book) and answered Q. 1-5 p. 278
For Thursday, Oct. 23
Honors Government
Get started on the federalism notes. The quiz next week is very difficult and you want to give yourself every opportunity to do well on it with great notes.
Continue working on the Constitution Study Guide. The Constitution Exam will likely be in two weeks. Remember, the study guide will be graded and not just a holistic grade for handing it in.
For Wed. October 22
AP US History
After a short review of the War of 1812, you will take an open note quiz on that war.
Be sure you have completed the rest of the Chapter 7 notes.
We will closely examine the Era of Good Feelings and the rise of sectionalism in class.
There will be an activity on the Missouri Compromise.
For Friday, Oct. 16
Honors Government
Newsweek assignment due–absence last Friday does not earn you extra time–you will have had Tuesday and Thursday of this week to stop in and pick up what you missed last Friday. Pre-arranged absences last Friday did not earn you an extra week to turn your essay in–point deductions for being late started when the essay was not handed in on Friday and have continued each day this week. Newsweek assignment will be included in First Quarter grade.
Last 9 essay presentations will be given. No opportunity will exist to do these at another time.
Group One and Group 2 should come prepared to share information on their assigned sections of the Independent Study Constitution Exam Study Guide.
***The quarter ends on Friday, October 16 and grades will be finalized by Monday–not on Monday.
