Honors Government

10/20:  Group 3 will present.  Federalism Quiz.

10/25:  Group 4 will present.  Supreme Court Packet is due.

10/27:  Amendment procedure packet is due.  Continue working on your Constitution Prep Independent Study Guide.  U.S. Constitution Exam will be either Nov. 4 or Nov. 8.

For Oct. 24-Nov. 2

AP US History

For 24th and 25th:  Continue working on analyzing the DBQ documents–my recommendation was 2 per day.  Be sure to fit them into one or more of the categories.  Read and bring to class with you one good source on James Madison.  War of 1812 note sheet is due.  War of 1812 quiz in class.

 

For 26th-27th:  Have completed the rest of the Chapter 7 assigned notes (see the back fot he War of 1812 notesheet).  Complete the Sectionalism analysis (be sure to use the attached handout for assistance.)  Missouri Compromise notesheet.  Free Response Essay is due.  Be sure you followed all of the instructions.

For the 28th and 31st:  Chapter 6-7 Exam   Have reviewed the Industrialization Handout.  Have read Portrait #19 and answered questions 1-5 on p.278.

For the 1st-2nd:  Chapter 8 Notes due.  Have read  Portrait #14 and answered Q. 2 & 3 p. 198 and completed the Marshall Court Case Analysis.  Have read pp. 249-252 (beginning of Chapter 9)

For Monday, October 3

Honors Government

Read handouts and text assignments on the Constitutional Convention

Complete the entire Venn Diagram packet

Remember, all final drafts of your research essay are due on Wed. Oct. 5

Please revise your Newsweek assignment to reflect Business Letter format and bring with you on Monday.

You have a political cartoon analysis due on Monday as well. (remember–you begged me to postpone it until Monday!!!)

Assignments for the rest of the Quarter

9/30 and 10/3–Revolutionary War Group Presentations–be sure you can present even if group members are absent

10/4 and 10/5–Reading and note-taking on the Constitutional Convention and writing of the Constitution; Open Note Quiz.  If you find the prepared note-taking sheet to be frustrating, you may take up to four pages of your own notes on the assigned reading, but be aware that the quiz reflect what I pointed out was important on the notesheet

10/6 and 10/7–Bullets #2 and 3 on the Chapter Five Assignments Sheet (Purple)

10/11 and 10/12–Bullets #4 and 5 on the Chapter Five Assignments Sheet

10/13 and 10/14–Chapter 4 and 5 Exam–Notes due

For Tuesday Sept. 27

Complete the assignment on the Newsweek article about the West Memphis Three

Remember that there is a political cartoon analysis due Thursday.

Complete reading and take notes on the material in 2nd green highlight in packet

Read pp. 92-96 and take notes on the French and Indian War.  See the green assignment sheet for topics to take note of as you read.

Complete your highlighted “Act” on the “Act” chart.

Chapter 1-2 timeline will be due.

For Tues. and Wed. 9/6 and 7

AP US History

Read the interpretation of the Salem Witch Hysteria that you received and fill out the summary sheet.

Note that some of you have 3 summaries to write and will need extra sheets.

Spend some time looking over your practice ACT Reading test results.  Be sure to mark the ones you missed on the pink sheet and see where your strengths or weaknesses are in relation to those reading skills.  Also note what your raw score converts to for an ACT reading score on the back of the pink sheet.  Would you be satisfied if that was your actual score reported to colleges in the spring?

Have read the article “The Puritans and Sex” thoroughly enough to be able to answer questions on the article.
