AP US History Update

*****The question you have to answer at the end of the article “The Father of American terrorism” is Ques. #5.

Remember your DBQ essay is due–you will need to staple all of the preliminary work to it so bring that with you to class.

Your timeline is due.

Have read “How We Got Lincoln” for a potential quiz on that reading.

For Wednesday, Dec. 2

AP US History

There will be an in-class quiz on CH 12-13.

The Chapter 12-13 packet containing the Activity Assignments and the in-class notesheet on Texas and Oregon as well as the highlighted California packet will be collected as will the Family Activity packet–be sure you have completed the  final page of that packet independently.

The Chapter 14 intro assignment will be due–See Chapter 14 assignment sheet distributed in class on 11/30.

••••Timeline and DBQ Essay as well as other assigned Chapter 14 work will be due Friday.

For Tuesday Dec. 1

Honors Govcernment

 

•  Complete 2 Ideology assignments:

On the blue sheet–write at the top what you think you are–Liberal, Moderately Liberal, Moderate, Moderately Conservative, Conservative before circling any of the descriptors

On white sheet–read the directions and follow them.

 

•  Nine of you have current events: Jordan H, Rachel H, Emily K, Angela L, Nick L, Caleb L, Katie M, Tyler M, Matt M

Since so many of you have these, I would recommend bringing a back-up article just in case someone else brings yours.

 

••••••Remember–Rough draft of essay is due Thursday 12/3.  It is for a grade and you can’t use a homework certificate in place of it.

Honors Government

Both ideology assignments are due.

Nine of you will have current event presentations.

Remember–Your rough draft of your research essay will be due on Thursday.  It is worth points!!!!!

For Wednesday, Nov. 25

Honors Government

 

There will be a quiz on Amendments 1-10 and 14.  It is a challenging quiz.  Study the guarantees and limitations columns of your chart.  Study the court cases on the handout.  You may write the information about 5 court cases on the sticky note.

For Monday, Nov. 30

AP US History

Have completed all of Activity #1

Have completed reading, highlighting, and the one fill in section of Activity #3.

Donner Party E.C. is due–will not be accepted at any other time.

Heads up–DBQ is due on Dec. 2.  There will be a Chapter 12-13 Quiz.  CH 14 intro assignment will be due–all on Dec. 2.

Honors Government

Have the information about your case completed.

 

Newsweek assignment.

 

Toria, Sydney, and Jenna should bring a current event.

For Wednesday, Nov. 18

AP US History

Be sure that your reform is completely done.

Bring a picture of a reformer (Photocopied) and a political cartoon form the time period about society’s reaction to the reform if you can find one.

Have read Portrait 15 about the Nat Turner Rebellion and answered the assigned questions.

For Thursday Nov. 5

AP US History

Bulleted lists due to Mrs. Smith by 8:00 on the 5th or you will have to run them off yourself.

Jackson presentations (remember–10 minute maximum per group)

Read Portrait #18 about Henry Clay and answer Q. 1,2,3, and 5.

Be sure to read and jot some notes about the last few pages of the Chapter–p. 265 “Rise of the Whigs” to p. 270.
